In June this year, three suspects were arrested following a high-speed chase by Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team.
The suspects were seen driving a silver Mercedez-Benz which had been stolen in a house robbery in the Sunningdale area of Umhlanga and in an effort to evade arrest, the suspects began driving at high-speed on the N2 southbound highway before taking the M25 Kwamashu Highway off-ramp.
The driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to overturn.
Three suspects were arrested. Property confirmed to have been taken from the Sunningdale home was recovered in the vehicle.
Thanks to sterling work by the South African Police Services, accused one and two were sentenced to eight years imprisonment whilst accused three received a six-year prison sentence.
We commend the detectives and the prosecution on another outstanding result.
