INCIDENT: GUARD ASSAULTED BY ARMED SUSPECTS

At approximately 03:00 Marshall Security were called to a residential complex in Brookend Close in the Sunningdale area of Umhlanga after four men armed with a bush knife confronted the onsite security guard.
A scuffle broke out between the guard and the suspects, with the armed men striking the guard several times, resulting in the man sustaining minor to moderate injuries to his arms and head. A search of the area was conducted however the suspects fled the scene prior to the arrival of armed reaction officers. No entry was gained to any residences.
The guard was treated and stabilized on scene by Crisis Medical Paramedics and transported to hospital for further care.
