We were notified via the Ballito Neighbourhood Watch Crime Alert group that, at approximately 09h00, a Marshall Security client on Jacqueline Drive reported an outside tap had been stolen from his property. A photo and detailed description of the suspect were immediately shared with our team.
Marshall Security Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. Whilst responding, our officers, along with other private security companies, spotted the suspect, who was immediately apprehended on Leonora Avenue.
After a thorough search of the suspect’s belongings, the stolen tap was found.
Further inspection revealed a water pipe valve, which was established to have been stolen from a Siza Water plant, and two exterior spotlights, which were reported to have been stolen from a premises on Susan Avenue. The respective complainants were advised accordingly and stated that they would be opening a case with SAPS.
Umhlali SAPS arrived on scene, and the suspect was formally taken into custody for further processing and investigation.
This incident highlights Marshall Security’s vigilance, rapid response capabilities, and collaboration with other private security companies and local authorities to ensure criminals are apprehended and property is recovered.
