At approximately 15:00 this afternoon members of Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team were alerted to a vehicle chase that started in La Lucia where a suspect wanted on multiple fraud charges had been spotted and attempted to flee from the police.
The members spotted the vehicle on North Coast Road and began pursuing it. The vehicle which had no registration plates was weaving through traffic at high speed to avoid capture.
At the North Coast Road and Acutt Avenue intersection, the suspect attempted to escape by mounting the pavement however the vehicles tyre was punctured in doing so. The vehicle proceeded to drive contra flow and turned into a service station where the suspect was arrested and found in possession of numerous bank cards.
The suspect was transported to the Durban North SAPS to be detained.
