Suspect Arrested in Kenville: Stolen Air Compressor Recovered, Suspect Released.

At 10h33 this morning, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received a message from a WhatsApp Crime Alert Group reporting suspicious activity in Kenville. A suspect was seen pushing a blue air compressor on Kew Road, raising concerns about possible theft.

Our Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the area. They soon located and stopped the suspect outside Kew Road in possession of a compressor. The suspect could not provide our Officers with a reasonable explanation as to how he had the item in his possession and was immediately apprehended.

Greenwood Park SAPS were contacted who arrived on scene a short while later.

Upon questioning, it was established that the air compressor was stolen from a non-clients property.

Despite identifying where the item was stolen from, the homeowner chose not to open a case and charge the suspect. As a result the suspect was sternly warned by the SAPS and released.

This incident serves as an important reminder of the necessity of opening cases for theft. By taking legal action, we can ensure that suspects are held accountable and prevent future incidents. Security and Police efforts are wasted if suspects are released without charges, as valuable time and resources are spent with no legal outcome. Pressing charges helps create a criminal record for repeat offenders, aiding future prosecutions. Reporting crimes leads to better Police resource allocation.

Marshall Security remains committed to safeguarding the community and encourages all residents to pursue legal action no matter how small the crime is.
