At 08h44 this morning, one of our Armed Response Officers requested backup on North Coast Road after observing a suspicious individual carrying multiple plastic chairs.
Back-up Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. Working together the suspect was stopped on North Coast Road leaving him no opportunity to escape. Officers questioned him about the origin of the chairs but refused to provide any information and was immediately apprehended, prompting the assistance of Greenwood Park SAPS who arrived on scene a few minutes later.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Greenwood Park Police Station for further investigation and being charged for being in possession of suspected stolen items.
The origin of the plastic chairs is currently unknown and members of the public are encouraged to contact Greenwood Park SAPS to assist in identifying the stolen property.
