A motorist’s vehicle was found severely stripped and fitted with false numberplates only 20 minutes after teams were activated to locate it.
On Friday at approximately 10h15 members of our Special Operations Team were activated to assist Matrix Tracking with finding a grey Toyota Fortuner that had been stolen in the Point area close by to Addington Hospital.
Members immediately responded and within 20 minutes the vehicle was found abandoned and recovered in a residential driveway by members of our Special Ops Team and Matrix ground team in Kwamashu B Section. The vehicle was badly damaged during the process of being severely stripped, and had also been fitted with false numberplates with the originals still underneath.
The scene was secured and the vehicle was handed over to the Kwamashu SAPS for further processing and investigation.
