At approximately 07h32 this morning, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a message on a WhatsApp Crime Alert group reporting that a suspect had stolen an aluminium gutter downpipe and was last seen on Bells Avenue, Morningside.
Multiple Armed Response Officers responded to the call.
Upon arrival, our Armed Response Officers spotted and immediately apprehended the suspect. During questioning, the suspect confessed to stealing the downpipe from a property located in the Morningside area, belonging to a Marshall client. The client was contacted and expressed a desire to press charges. SAPS arrived at the scene, and the suspect was handed over for further legal processing.
