Yesterday approximately 16:45, members of the Marshall Security team received crucial information about a stolen silver Polo being towed by a tow truck in the Glen Anil area. Our vigilant team immediately mobilized to locate the stolen vehicle.
While patrolling the area, members of our Special Operations team along with Greenwoodpark SAPS Trio Crimes spotted the tow truck with the stolen vehicle on Glen Anil Street. Acting swiftly, they managed to stop the tow truck and apprehend the driver. Upon questioning the tow truck driver, it was revealed that a male had hired him to tow the vehicle to a local panel beaters premises in Glen Anil from Chatsworth.
Following the lead provided by the tow truck driver, teams pursued the suspect and successfully apprehended him in Chatsworth. During the interview, the suspect confessed to stealing the vehicle on Saturday from a market in Chatsworth.
The recovered vehicle and the suspect were then taken to Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation and processing.
