Swift Response Leads to Arrest and Discovery of Suspected Stolen Items In Glenashley Area

This morning at approximately 11h10, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre was altered to a trespassing incident on Davallen Avenue in the Glenashley area.

Multiple Armed Response Officers, along with members of our Special Operations Team, were immediately dispatched to the scene. A description of the trespassing suspect was promptly shared to all responding officers.

Shortly thereafter, the suspect was located on David Avenue in Glen Ashley by our Special Ops Team and was immediately apprehended. A search revealed suspected stolen items, including jewellery, and a knife were found in the suspect’s possession.

The Durban North SAPS Trio Crimes Unit arrived on scene a short while later to assist and transported the suspect to the Durban North SAPS. The suspect will be charged for trespassing, being in possession of a dangerous weapon and being in possession of suspected stolen items.

The origin of the suspected stolen items remains unknown. We encourage the community to come forward if they’ve been victims of theft or housebreaking in the area and to report any such incidents to SAPS as soon as possible.
