At approximately 14:55, we received reports of gunfire in the Durban North area, with the exact location initially unclear. Subsequently, a critical call pinpointed a shooting at a property on Adelaide Tambo Drive. Response officers alongside members of our Special Operations Team were swiftly dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, a grim scene unfolded as four individuals were found with gunshot wounds. Our team members provided immediate first aid while coordinating with Netcare 911 and other private ambulance services, who promptly attended the scene. Despite the rapid medical response, one female victim was tragically pronounced deceased at the location. The three other victims, all in critical condition, received urgent care and were stabilised before being transported to a medical facility for further treatment.
The cause of the shooting remains under investigation, but early indications suggest a domestic dispute may have been the catalyst. Durban North SAPS is actively investigating the incident to uncover more details and provide clarity and justice for those affected.
Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this incredibly difficult time. This incident underscores the vital importance of community vigilance and the prompt action of emergency response teams.
We extend our gratitude to all the neighbourhood watch groups that were involved and provided assistance at the scene. Their dedication and cooperation play a crucial role in maintaining safety and providing immediate responses in our community.
