INCIDENT: POSESSION OF UNLICENSED FIREARM / SUSPECT ARRESTED

At approximately midnight on Saturday morning whilst on a patrol in the Morningside area, Marshall Security officers spotted three suspicious males who attempted to flee on spotting the response officers.
One male was stopped and found to be in posession of a 9mm pistol containing live ammunition. The firearm’s serial numbers had been filed off the weapon.
The man was arrested on site and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
