Stolen electrical cables to the value of approximately R200,000 were recovered and a wanted suspect arrested in a joint operation by members of our Special Operations Team and the SAPS Phoenix Trio Crimes Unit on Tuesday.
On the 26th of May, electrical cables to the value of R350,000 had been stolen from a business premises in Briardene. Working on information received, our Special Ops Team members together with the Phoenix Trio Crimes Unit located the wanted suspect to a residential premises in Isipingo where he was immediately arrested.
Upon questioning, the suspect led operatives to a location in the Bonela area where the stolen cabling to the approximate value of R200,000 was successfully recovered.
It was established that the suspect had been wanted for multiple similar cases of theft and was detained at the Greenwood Park SAPS for further processing and investigation.
