This evening at approximately 17:45, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received reports of multiple gunshots being fired in the vicinity of Blackburn Road in Parkhill, Durban North.
Marshall Security Armed Response Officers and members of the Special Operations Team responded immediately.
Upon arrival, members discovered an adult female who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was found deceased inside her vehicle.
A child was also found inside the vehicle. Fortunately, the child was not physically injured but was left severely traumatised by the incident.
A motorcyclist was also struck during the crossfire and sustained gunshot injuries. The individual is currently receiving medical treatment from Netcare 911.
The scene was secured, and Greenwood Park SAPS, Metro Police, and Netcare 911 are in attendance.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unknown at this stage and are being investigated by SAPS.
