This morning, at approximately 11h38, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received notifications from a WhatsApp Crime alert group about a house breaking in progress on Jain Road in the Effingham area. The alert come from a vigilant neighbour who spotted the suspect entering the property.
Multiple Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team were immediately dispatched to the location, who arrived within minutes.
Upon arriving on scene, our Officers gained access to the property by jumping over the fence. During their search, they encountered the suspect actively breaking into the home and promptly apprehended him.
The homeowners and tenants of the property, who are non Marshall Security Clients, were promptly notified and expressed their desire to press charges against the intruder.
Greenwood Park SAPS were informed and arrived on scene a short while later and transported the suspect to Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation and processing.
Well done to the vigilant neighbour for their alertness, and we commend our officers for their swift response and successful apprehension of the suspect.
