Quick response to a business burglary in the early hours of yesterday morning led to the arrest of a repeat offender.
At approximately 04h00 yesterday morning the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received multiple zone activations from a client’s business premises in Blackburn Road in the Parkhill area. Multiple Armed Response Officers were dispatched and arrived on scene within minutes.
Upon further investigation our Response Officers noticed that the front gate to the business premises and one of the windows had been forced open. Stolen items were also found on the outside of the building next to the forced window. Armed Response Officers surrounded the building as they could hear noises coming from inside. The suspect realised there was no way of escaping and surrendered himself to our Armed Response Officers, and he was immediately placed under arrest.
Greenwood Park SAPS arrived on scene swiftly and the suspect was detained and will be charged for business burglary and theft.
The suspect is known and has been arrested in the Durban North and Greenwood Park areas for similar criminal offenses.
