At approximately 21:58 last night, the Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received critical information from a community member reporting a house-breaking at a resident premises on Kelvin Place in the Umgeni Park area.
Shortly after, at 22:02, a client of Marshall Security residing on Kelvin Place also reported seeing a suspicious individual in her yard.
Our Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene to investigate the situation. Upon arrival, one of our officers spotted the suspect running along High Ridge Road, jumping fences into various properties in an attempt to evade capture. Despite his efforts to escape, the suspect was eventually apprehended in a property on Kelvin Place by our Armed Response Officers.
Upon searching the suspect, our officers recovered stolen items, which were positively identified by the non-client as belonging to her son. The suspect had accessed the property by jumping over the rear fence and entering the cottage through an unsecured front door. While some items, including the recovered goods, were returned to the homeowner, other stolen valuable items are still missing.
Greenwood Park SAPS arrived on the scene and took the suspect into custody for further investigation after the non-client confirmed her intent to press charges.
This successful apprehension once again highlights Marshall Security’s dedication to swift action and community safety, ensuring that those who commit crimes are brought to justice.
