Collaboration between SAPS and private security companies leads to recovery of stolen vehicles

vehicle recovery

This morning, an alert Armed Response Officer spotted a vehicle wanted in connection to a fraud case in the Hillcrest area on Lilian Ngoyi Road in Morningside. The Hillcrest SAPS detectives were promptly notified and arrived on the scene shortly after. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle had been fraudulently purchased in Hillcrest last November. The vehicle was subsequently transported to Hillcrest SAPS for further investigation.

Later in the morning, Tracker SA activated members of the Special Operations Team to assist with a BMW that had been stolen from the Westville area. The team quickly responded to the last known location of the vehicle and, in collaboration with Tracker SA and the Durban North Trio Crimes unit, successfully recovered the stolen vehicle within minutes. The vehicle was found abandoned and severely stripped in a well-known complex in the La Lucia area. It was then transported to Durban North SAPS for further investigation and processing.

These incidents demonstrate the critical need for prompt and efficient collaboration between the SAPS and private security companies to achieve successful outcomes. Working together, they can make a significant impact on reducing crime in the community.
