At approximately 08H58 this morning, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received critical information from a local CPF WhatsApp Crime Alert Group. A member of the public reported to the Greenwood Park CPF that they were following a silver Nissan Magnite suspected of involvement in a theft out of a motor vehicle incident at a petrol station in the Riverhorse Valley area on 20 September 2024.
Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team and Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to intercept the vehicle.
Throughout the operation, the Emergency Dispatch Centre maintained contact with the vigilant community member, who continued to follow the vehicle and provide updates on its location. The vehicle was initially tracked on the N2 and later proceeded to a well-known mall in the Cornubia area, where the driver made a U-turn and headed back onto the M41 towards Umhlanga.
Thanks to the coordinated effort between the member of the public and our team, the Special Operations Team successfully intercepted and stopped the vehicle on the M41. The three occupants were immediately apprehended, and the vehicle was taken to Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation and processing.
This arrest underscores the power of community involvement in crime prevention and Marshall Security’s unwavering commitment to protecting the public through swift and decisive action.
