Community Vigilance Leads to Arrests Of Two Theft Suspects in Glen Ashley

This morning at approximately 10h21, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a call from a vigilant client who observed two individuals on Maryland Avenue in Glen Ashley, fitting the description of suspects from a theft incident on 7th of February at a well-known hardware store on Ashley Avenue. During that incident, the suspects had entered the business premises under the pretence of seeking employment, while staff members were not watching they took an unattended laptop, and fled on foot.

Our Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team immediately responded and spotted the suspects walking on Maryland Avenue.

After conducting interviews and reviewing CCTV footage, it was confirmed that these were indeed the same two suspects involved in the theft and were immediately apprehended.

Durban North SAPS and detectives were immediately informed and arrived on scene a short while later and transported the suspects to Durban North SAPS.

Well done to the vigilant client and to our officers responding swiftly and apprehending the suspects.
