A suspect arrested for escaping lawful custody was found guilty and successfully charged with prison time in the Durban Regional court last week.
In December 2020 Marshall Security received a request for assistance from the Greenwood Park Police Station, after a detained suspect had manage to escape custody.
The suspect, who had been arrested for a house robbery, had managed to escape custody after fleeing through a bathroom window while being escorted by a police official.
After an extensive search the suspect was rearrested on Fern Grove and Pine Grove in the Park Hill area by members of our Special Operations Team, Durban K9 unit and members of the SAPS from Greenwood Park.
The suspect had been denied bail and jailed while awaiting his sentencing last week. He was found guilty in the Durban Regional court on the 3rd of September 2021 and was sentenced to 5 years direct imprisonment for escaping lawful custody.
