This morning, at approximately 06h11, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received an urgent call for assistance from a Marshall Security Officer who noticed a suspect trespassing at a well-known business complex on Moreland Drive, Redhill.
Marshall Security Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that the suspect had fled to the back of the complex and jumped the fence onto Chris Hani Road, heading in the direction of Avoca.
Following a swift search, officers spotted the suspect, who matched the provided description, carrying copper pipes. After a brief foot chase, they successfully apprehended him.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect had stolen copper pipes from a business premise that is not a Marshall Security client and had tampered with the air brakes of a truck belonging to a freight company. Fortunately, the driver was able to reconnect the brakes, avoiding further complications.
The suspect was handed over to Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation.
The business manager was informed and will be visiting Greenwood Park SAPS to open a case for the copper theft.
Marshall Security commends the swift response and teamwork of our Armed Response Officers and Security Officers in ensuring the suspect was caught before further damage could occur.
We urge businesses and residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
