On Saturday, during the early hours of the morning, a maroon BMW was reported to be engaging in dangerous driving behaviours, including burnouts and wheel-spins at the busy intersection of Lighthouse and Chartwell. The reckless actions of the vehicle’s driver posed a significant threat to both pedestrians and other vehicles in the area. The car was reportedly occupied by two individuals.
Upon receiving the report, our control center swiftly contacted the metro police and SAPS for immediate intervention. Our Umhlanga tactical unit, was also dispatched to assist in locating the vehicle involved.
The vehicle was subsequently found at an intersection on Chartwell Drive.
SAPS officers arrested the driver of the vehicle. It was confirmed that this vehicle was involved in similar reckless driving activities the previous weekend.
