In a swift and coordinated response, Marshall Security, in collaboration with Netstar’s ground team, successfully recovered two stolen vehicles in the KwaMashu area on Wednesday afternoon – both within approximately 20 minutes of each other.
The first activation came through at approximately 12h15, when Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team was activated to assist with a white Toyota Starlet, which had been stolen minutes prior from the Umbilo area.
Using real-time tracking data, our officers, alongside Netstar Ground Team, Durban K9 Unit, and other private security located the vehicle abandoned in KwaMashu M-Section. No suspects were on site, and the vehicle was secured.

While still processing the recovery, a second call was received – this time for a white Kia K2700 bakkie reported stolen from 9th Avenue in the Morningside area. Our team responded immediately, to the last known location of the stolen vehicle where the vehicle was recovered and found abandoned within a property in D – Section, KwaMashu.

In both theft cases, the victims chose not to open a formal case with the SAPS and the vehicle was handed over to the owners. While the recoveries were successful, Marshall Security stresses the importance of opening official cases with the Police, as this is essential for ongoing investigations and the successful prosecution of vehicle theft syndicates.
This incident highlights the power of collaborative response and why prompt reporting, tracking systems, and visible policing remain key tools in the fight against crime.
