At approximately 00h30 on Tuesday morning, our Emergency Dispatch Centre received numerous alarm and panic signals from clients in and around Chelsea Drive, Durban North after a suspect was seen fence hopping in the area.
We dispatched multiple Armed Reaction Officers to the scene. While patrolling on Chelsea drive, one of our officers noticed a suspect carrying a laptop. The suspect immediately fled when he saw our officer.
After a long and extensive search of the area, our officers finally managed to flush out and arrest the suspect on Cavendish Drive with the laptop in his possession.
It could not be established as to where the stolen property was taken from.
The suspect as well as the stolen property were handed over to the SAPS for further investigation and processing.
