Durban North Thief No Match for Marshall Security Two-Hour Foot Pursuit

In the early hours of the morning, at approximately 03h37, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received an alarm activation from a client’s property on Roehampton Way in the Durban North area. Upon contacting the client, it was confirmed that a suspect had been seen trespassing on the property and fled after triggering the alarm.

Multiple Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene to search for the suspect. Over the next two hours, our Emergency Dispatch Centre received additional alarm activations from properties on Roehampton Way, Hoylake Drive, Kinclaven Drive, and Balgownie Crescent, where the suspect was attempting to evade capture by fence-hopping across properties.

Despite the suspect’s efforts, our team remained vigilant, and the individual was eventually apprehended on a property on Roehampton Way. A blue JBL speaker, later confirmed as stolen from a nearby residence, was found in the suspect’s possession.

Durban North SAPS arrived shortly after and took over the scene. It was discovered that the suspect had previously been arrested by Marshall Security in June this year for a similar offense in Glen Ashley. The suspect will now face charges of trespassing and theft.

This successful arrest highlights Marshall Security’s dedication to safeguarding our clients and delivering swift justice, ensuring the safety of the Durban North community.
