E-Hailing Driver Linked to Petrol Theft Apprehended in Umhlanga

Yesterday evening, at approximately 19h00, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team showcased its extensive operational reach by apprehending a suspect linked to a petrol theft incident that occurred in Kloof, located in Durban’s Upper Highway region, on Monday, December 16, 2024.

While patrolling Park Way in Umhlanga, officers identified a white Toyota Corolla wanted in connection with the theft. Despite the significant distance between Kloof and Umhlanga, Marshall Security’s proactive collaboration with local law enforcement ensured the vehicle and its driver were swiftly intercepted.

Upon questioning, the driver, an E-hailing operator who did not own the vehicle, confessed to the theft and was immediately apprehended.

Durban North SAPS was promptly notified and arrived at the scene. The suspect was taken into custody, and the vehicle involved in the crime was seized for further investigation.

Pinetown SAPS, covering the Upper Highway region, was informed and has since taken over the case for processing.

This arrest highlights the vast operational footprint of Marshall Security, whose teams work seamlessly across regions to tackle crime and deliver justice. From the Upper Highway area to the north coast, Marshall Security remains dedicated to protecting communities and holding criminals accountable, no matter the distance.

Marshall Security thanks its dedicated officers and SAPS for their collaboration in this successful operation.
