This morning our team members managed to successfully arrest a copper cable thief on Umhlanga Rocks Drive.
At approximately 09h20 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a panic activation from a client’s premises on Umhlanga Rocks Drive in the Glen Hills area who reported that a suspect was spotted on their property.
Multiple Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene within four minutes.
While our team was conducting a property check a suspect was spotted on the property and was immediately apprehended after the suspect failed to escape on foot.
Upon searching the suspect copper cables were found in his possession which was confirmed to have been stolen from the property.
A case was opened by the homeowner and the suspect was handed over to Greenwood Park SAPS and will be charged for housebreaking and theft.
