From House Robbery to Recovery: Stolen Vehicle Intercepted in Westmead, Suspect Arrested

At approximately 20h25, the GWA Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received information regarding a silver-grey Volkswagen Polo Vivo that had been taken during a house robbery in the KwaNdengezi area a few days earlier.

GWA Marshall Security Tactical Teams and Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to search for the vehicle, while SAPS were notified.

A short while later, the wanted vehicle was spotted entering a service station in the Westmead area. Responding members immediately moved in and successfully brought the vehicle to a stop, resulting in one suspect being apprehended.

Further investigation confirmed that the vehicle matched the description and registration of the vehicle being sought in connection with the house robbery.

According to the victim, five suspects had allegedly entered his home, with one suspect reportedly armed with a firearm. During the robbery, several household appliances, cellphones, laptops, a wallet containing bank cards, and the victim’s vehicle were stolen.

Members of Pinetown SAPS attended the scene and took the apprehended suspect and recovered vehicle to the police station for further investigation and processing.

The successful recovery highlights the value of rapid information sharing and coordinated operations between GWA Marshall Security and SAPS in identifying and intercepting vehicles linked to serious crimes.

The Greater Westmead Association (GWA), in partnership with Marshall Security, remains committed to proactive crime prevention throughout the Westmead area.
