At approximately 03h40 this morning, reports of an attempted housebreaking in Danville Avenue were made on a community crime alert WhatsApp group.
Our Armed Reaction Officers were dispatched to the scene and the homeowner advised that he saw two suspects trying to remove the glass from his one window frame. When the suspects saw the homeowner, they fled the scene. Marshall Armed Reaction Officers searched the area and noticed two suspects hiding on Newport Avenue and a vehicle pulled up to them. Our Armed Reaction Officer approached the vehicle but the driver fled leaving the 2 suspects on the road where they were arrested by members of Marshall Security Reaction and Special Ops Team.
The suspects have been linked to another break in in O’Connor Place earlier this week and were handed over to Durban North SAPS for further investigation and processing.
