This morning at approximately 04h38 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received an alarm activation from a clients premises on Kingston Close in the Herrwood Park area.
Our Armed Response officer was immediately dispatched who arrived on scene within minutes. As our Armed Response Officer arrived on scene a suspect was spotted jumping over the rear wall of the property with stolen items.
Our Armed Response officer immediately called for backup and gave chase after the suspect. The suspect then dropped the items in the bush on the M4 Highway.
After an extensive and lengthy search by our Armed Response officers the suspect unfortunately managed to evade arrest after fleeing into a nearby dense bush.
All the stolen items, which included a flatscreen TV were handed over to Durban North SAPS as it could not be established as to where the items were stolen from.
Later on in the morning it was established that the stolen items were stolen from a well known Bed and Breakfast in the Herrwood Park area and were informed to contact the SAPS to reclaim their stolen items.
