Hijacked Truck Drivers Jump From Vehicle To Escape Armed Robbers

Just after 12h15 today the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received information about the hijacking of an Isuzu truck that had occurred in the Kenville area after it had delivered bread at a local supermarket.

During the hijacking, the driver and his co-driver’s phones and personal belongings had been taken before they were forced into the back of the truck by unknown number of armed suspects. The suspects proceed to drive off with both drivers locked in the back of the truck. They eventually managed to free themselves by forcing the back doors of the truck open and jumping out on Queen Nandi Drive in the vicinity of the Imvubupark Place intersection, where they managed to get assistance.

After interviewing the victim, members of our Special Operations Team responded to the last known direction in which the hijackers had been traveling and managed to recover the truck on Imvubupark Place in Riverhorse Valley, where it was found abandoned.

The vehicle was returned to the driver of the truck due to no case being desired.
