Three Hijacking Suspects Arrested After Shootout

On December 5, 2024, at approximately 09:00, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team (SOT), in collaboration with the Greenwood Park and Phoenix Trio Crimes units, acted swiftly to bring a dangerous hijacking case to a close.

The incident began with the hijacking of a blue Ford EcoSport on Avocado Grove in Avoca Hills. Leveraging critical information, the team tracked the vehicle to the Inanda area. Upon arrival, the hijacked vehicle was found parked with suspects inside. As officers approached, the suspects opened fire. Members returned fire, injuring one suspect and apprehending another, while others fled the scene. A signal jammer and vehicle-breaking tools were also recovered.

The operation didn’t stop there. Further information received from SAPS Crime intelligence (CI) indicated the remaining suspects were in the KwaMashu area, driving a white Suzuki. While patrolling KwaMashu, officers spotted the vehicle. Once again, suspects exited and opened fire. In the ensuing action, two suspects were arrested, and another was fatally wounded after firing on officers. A firearm, the victim’s driver’s license, and business cards were recovered from the deceased suspect.

The recovered vehicle and evidence have been handed over to SAPS for further investigation. This daring operation highlights the coordinated efforts of Marshall Security and law enforcement in combating serious crime.
