On August 19th, at approximately 12:00 PM, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team received information regarding a hijacking on Dumisani Makhaye Road. The suspects, who are wanted in connection with a series of hijackings and armed robberies in the KwaMashu and Avoca Hills area, were fleeing from authorities.
Our Special Operations Team swiftly responded to the location with SAPS members and identified a white Suzuki matching the description provided by the information received. Upon arrival, the suspects noticed our officers and SAPS and the suspects immediately exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot, abandoning the driver inside. Without hesitation, our officers and SAPS began pursuing the fleeing suspects.
During the chase, one suspect opened fire on our team and SAPS as he attempted to escape into nearby houses. Our officers returned fire and called for additional backup from SAPS members nearby.
