INCIDENT: FRAUD / SUSPECT ARRESTED
SUBURB: UMHLANGA / PIETERMARITZBURG
At approximately 10h00 on Friday, Marshall Security were alerted via our SNIPR Automatic Number Plate Recognition Camera systems, to a vehicle sought by the South African Police Services in connection with various ATM fraud-related incidents in the Pietermaritzburg area.
The vehicle was detected in Umhlanga Rocks vehicles in the area were advised to be on the lookout, shortly after a positive sighting was made and the vehicle was brought to a stop near a service station in Lagoon Drive. A single male occupant was apprehended and taken into the custody of the SAPS for further investigation and processing.
The suspect is believed to be linked to numerous cases of ATM fraud in the Pietermaritzburg area in recent months as well as other crimes.
