Yesterday afternoon at approximately 14h30, whilw on routine patrol in the Durban North area, our Special Operations Team spotted two suspicious males carrying an industrial water pump on Umhlanga Rocks Drive.
The team immediately stopped to investigate. Upon interviewing the suspects, who failed to provide our team members with a reasonable explanation as to how they had the industrial water pump in their possession, they were immediately apprehended.
Durban North SAPS were contacted and arrived on scene a short while later.
Further investigations revealed that the suspects had stolen the the industrial water pump from a property on Kingston Road in the Redhill area.
The suspects were subsequently transported to Durban North SAPS and will be facing charges for being in possession of suspected stolen items.
