This morning at approximately 07h35, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a call from a member of the public reporting a house breaking in process at a property on Wimbledon Place in the Durban North area.
Multiple Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team were promptly dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, our team caught the suspect in the act of stealing copper pipes from the premises.
Upon spotting our officers, the suspect fled with the stolen copper pipes but was subsequently apprehended after an extensive search. The arrest took place on Cranford Place, where the suspect was found with multiple pieces of copper piping.

The property owner was informed and expressed a desire to press charges against the suspect.
Durban North SAPS was notified and arrived on scene shortly thereafter. The suspect was then transported to the police station for further investigation and processing.
Well done to our team on yet another successful apprehension.
