This afternoon at approximately 14h25 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre recieved an alert of a trespassing incident, where a vigilant neighbour spotted a suspect on a property on Adrossan Road in the Greenwood Park area.
The neighbour provided a detailed description of the suspect, enabling a prompt response. Our Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. En route, they spotted the suspect fleeing and successfully apprehended him on Chris Hani Road shortly thereafter.
The homeowner was informed accordingly and desired to press charges against the suspect.
Greenwood Park SAPS were contacted who arrived on scene a short while later and transported the suspect to Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigations and will be charged for trespassing.
After further investigation, it was established that the suspect had been granted parole last December for a previous murder conviction. He is a well-known suspect in the area and has been previously arrested by our team. This history highlights the ongoing challenges we face with repeat offenders in the community.
