At 03h26 this morning, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a distress call from a client on Marine Drive in the Umhlanga area, reporting a potential intruder in his property.
Multiple Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team were swiftly dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the team conducted a thorough inspection of the property, engaging with the client to assess the situation. It was discovered that an intruder had forcibly entered the home through a toilet window’s burglar guard. The suspect fled after encountering the homeowner but managed to steal a laptop.
Our Special Operations Team pursued the suspect, after spotting him on Chartwell Drive and was immediately apprehended and still in possession of the stolen laptop.
The suspect was taken into custody and handed over to the Durban SAPS for further investigation and processing. This incident underscores the effectiveness of our response teams in managing security breaches and ensuring community safety.
The suspect that has been apprehended is believed to be involved in numerous house breakings within the Umhlanga area.
