Reaction officers apprehended a suspect who was caught trying to flee the scene of a business burglary in the Park Hill area yesterday morning.
Just after 05h00 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received an internal alarm activation from a client’s business premises on North Coast Road in the Park Hill area. Our Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene within minutes.
Upon doing a property check on the business premises a suspect was spotted climbing out of a window that he had forced open. The suspect did not manage to take any items of value as he was disturbed when he noticed our Armed Response Officers arriving on the scene. He attempted to escape from the premises before our Response Officers could catch him, but our members were too quick for the escaping suspect.
The suspect was immediately apprehended, and our client proceeded to open a case against him. The suspect was handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS who arrived on the scene a short while later and will be charged with business burglary.
Later that morning at approximately 11h50 members of our Special Operations Team were activated to assist Tracker SA with locating a white Opel Corse bakkie that had been taken during a separate business robbery in the Claremont area.
Our members immediately responded to the last known location of the wanted vehicle and within a few minutes the vehicle was found abandoned and recovered in Khayalami Circle in the Kwadabeka area, assisted by the Tracker SA ground team and Kwadabeka SAPS.
Various handbags and purses that had been stolen during the business robbery were found inside the vehicle. All the recovered items together with the wanted vehicle was taken to Kwadabeka SAPS for further investigation and processing.
