Robbery Suspect Arrested on Henry Pennington Road, Westmead

This morning at approximately 08h18, Marshall Security Greater Westmead Association (GWA) Tactical Officer spotted a vehicle on Henry Pennington Road, Pinetown, suspected to be involved in the robbery of a delivery bike that occurred on Bartle Road, Umbilo. The driver was wanted in connection with recent robbery incidents.

Members managed to stop the vehicle together with the assistance of Pinetown SAPS. Upon further investigations the driver lead our officers to the other possible suspects involved. Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team members were immediately activated to assist. Together with Pinetown SAPS Crime Prevention members, they proceeded to Lamontville to follow up on the remaining suspects. Unfortunately, the additional suspects managed to evade arrest.

The driver and the vehicle were handed over to Pinetown SAPS, where he will face charges related to a robbery that occurred in Kloof on Thursday afternoon. Due to no other cases being opened for previous robbery incidents.

We commend our officers for their vigilance and rapid response, resulting in a safe resolution to this incident.
