Unknown amount of armed suspects held up a well-known restaurant in the Umgeni Park area which resulted in three patrons sustaining gunshot wounds.
At approximately 19h30 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre was alerted to a business robbery and shooting incident which occurred at a well-known restaurant on Browns Drift Road in the Umgeni Park area.
Multiple Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team were immediately dispatched to assist who arrived on scene within minutes.
Upon their arrival it was established that during the business robbery, three patrons were shot and sustained several gunshot wounds and were treated and stabilized on scene by Netcare911 paramedics and transported to hospital for the further medical that they would require.
The suspects held up patrons and staff members in the restaurant and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, cellphones and other unconfirmed items of value.
The crime scene was cordoned off and will be investigated further by the Greenwood Park SAPS.
