At approximately 9h00 this morning, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre was alerted by an ANPR activation from SNIPR in the Westmead, Pinetown area of a Toyota Quantum, which had been reported stolen in the Midrand area this month.
The details of the stolen vehicle were promptly circulated to our Greater Westmead Association Tactical Officers and our Armed Response Officers to be on the lookout.
Shortly thereafter the vehicle was then spotted at a well-known service station on Henry Pennington Road. Our team immediately intervened together with the assistance of Pinetown SAPS Trio Crimes unit.
The driver, along with the vehicle, was then taken to Pinetown SAPS for further investigation and processing.
