Yesterday at approximately 09h50 members of our Special Operations Team were activated to assist Cartrack with a stolen white Nissan NP200 that had been stolen in the Morningside area.
Our team members immediately responded and within four minutes of being activated, the stolen vehicle was found abandoned and recovered with the assistance of the SAPS Provincial Trio Task Team and Cartrack ground team on Durrant Place in the Morningside area.
According to eye-witnesses the suspects had removed the battery from the vehicle and fled the scene only seconds prior to the arrival of our teams, in an unknown vehicle.
The vehicle was handed over to the SAPS who will be investigating further.
