At 09h05 this morning, a white BMW driven by a male, wanted by Umhlali SAPS was spotted travelling on Henry Pennington Road in the Westmead area by our Greater Westmead (GWA) Tactical Team.
Our team immediately followed the vehicle, confirmed the details with Umhlali SAPS who stated that the driver and vehicle is still wanted.
Responding swiftly, Pinetown SAPS Trio Crimes Unit assisted our team to stop the wanted vehicle on Bellevue Road in Kloof. The driver was immediately apprehend.
Following the apprehension, Umhlali SAPS were contacted and confirmed the suspect’s identity and the vehicle’s link to criminal activities. The apprehended suspect was then handed over to Umhlali SAPS Task Team and was transported to Umhlali SAPS for further investigations.
During investigations a licensed firearm used in the commission of a crime was also recovered along with 18 rounds of live ammunition.
