This morning at approximately 09h45, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a report of a theft incident on Glen Anil Street in the Glen Anil area.
Reports from the scene indicated that a suspect forcefully removed a flood light from the homeowners garage wall and fled the scene on foot.
A detailed description of the suspect was immediately circulated to all our Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team, who commenced an extensive search of the area.
The diligent efforts of our team paid off when the suspect was located and apprehended at the intersection of Ardrossan Road and Ben Nevis Road in the Avoca area.
Upon searching the contents of the suspect the stolen flood light was found in his possession.
Greenwood Park SAPS arrived on scene a short while later and transported the suspect to Greenwood Park SAPS and will be facing charges of theft.
Upon further investigations, the same suspect was captured on security footage stealing lights from a residence in Sunningdale. The client has expressed intentions to file a criminal case (CAS) against the suspect.
