At approximately 06h38 yesterday morning, a Marshall Security Armed Response Officer, while on patrol, was flagged down by a member of the public at the corner of Umhlanga Rocks Drive and Kenneth Kaunda Road. The individual reported seeing a male suspect jumping out of a business premises on Kenneth Kaunda Road, Durban North. The suspect was carrying plastic bags and was last seen heading down Blackburn Road in the Park Hill area.
Additional Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched as back up and investigate.
Our officers successfully intercepted the suspect on Blackburn Road. Upon questioning, the individual refused to disclose where he had obtained the items he was carrying.
The business owner, a non-client of Marshall Security, was advised on the incident and confirmed the stolen items as theirs and desired pressing charges against the suspect.
Greenwood Park SAPS was promptly contacted and arrived on the scene shortly thereafter to take the suspect into custody for processing.
