This morning at approximately 06h35, while one of our Inspectors dedicated to the Greater Westmead Association was patrolling the Westmead area, he spotted a male with a wheel at the intersection of Marianhill Road and Gillits Road.
Our Inspector immediately called for backup, and members of our Armed Response Division and Tactical Unit were dispatched to assist.
Team members arrived on the scene and interviewed the male, who could not provide a reasonable explanation as to how he had the wheel in his possession. The suspect was promptly apprehended.
Pinetown SAPS were contacted and arrived shortly after. They also questioned the male, who again failed to provide a reasonable explanation. The suspect was then transported to Pinetown SAPS and will be charged with possession of suspected stolen items.
If you have fallen victim to theft and your wheel has been stolen, we urge you to open a case at your nearest police station.
Well done to our team on yet another successful apprehension. This operation highlights the vital importance of community partnerships in the fight against crime. The collaboration between Marshall Security and the Greater Westmead Association played a key role in ensuring a safer environment for everyone involved.
