Marshall Security is proud to announce the successful apprehension of suspects involved in a serious crime incident in the Upper Tongaat area.
On 1 June 2024, members of our Special Operations Team, in collaboration with SAPS Umhlali, Hawks Security, and other private security firms, received critical information regarding suspects linked to a housebreaking and theft incident. Tragically, the victim, reported missing by family members, was later identified as having been murdered.
Acting swiftly on this information, our teams conducted a coordinated operation, leading to the arrest of the first suspect, at a well-known store in Upper Tongaat. The suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition, believed to belong to the deceased.
Further investigations and interrogation of the first suspect led to the arrest of a second suspect in the Upper Tongaat area. This operation also resulted in the recovery of a stolen motor vehicle, belonging to the deceased, and a significant quantity of household goods valued at approximately R150,000. The suspects subsequently disclosed the location of the deceased, who was found in the sugar cane fields on Waterfall Farm. Preliminary investigations suggest the cause of death was strangulation.
As both suspects, previously serving conditions of parole, are now facing multiple charges, after investigations the charges are as follows including murder, house robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, and possession of suspected stolen property.
The recovered items and the motor vehicle have been entered as exhibits at SAPS Umhlali. The deceased has been transported to Kwadukuza Provincial Mortuary for post-mortem procedures. The crime scene remains active with ongoing investigations.
