This morning at approximately 08h15, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre was alerted via panic alarm from a client’s home on Avoca Road in the Avoca area. The homeowner quickly informed our control room that an intruder had entered their property, attacked them, stolen their phone, and escaped on foot.
Multiple Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to scene and an accurate description of the suspect was circulated to all responding Officers.
While responding to scene one of our Armed Response Officers spotted the suspect walking on Avoca Road. As soon as the suspect spotted our Armed Response Officer he attempted to flee on foot but after a short foot pursuit the suspect was apprehended.
Upon searching the suspect the cellphone taken in the house robbery was found in his possession.
Greenwood Park SAPS were contacted and arrived on scene a short while later and transported the suspect to Greenwood Park SAPS and will be facing charges of house robbery.
Well done to our team on yet another successful apprehension.
